A new WhatsApp version has been released for the Android devices. This time, the developers have released version 2.12.399 of WhatsApp for Android and it is currently in BETA phase.
The new WhatsApp 2.12.399 version doesn’t come with any apparent chances or new features, but it seems that, internally, have been spotted a few new icons, which shows that the developers are planning to enable them in a future update. As expected, the new WhatsApp 2.12.399 also comes with performance enhancements along with some bug fixes, which will make the application to run smoother than before.
Compared to the previous WhatsApp version, the new APK file has been increased by 206KB, having 420 modified files, two deleted icons that got replaced by two new ones, and 5 new icons.
WhatsApp 2.12.399: How To Install On Your Android Device
The new WhatsApp 2.12.399 is currently in BETA phase, which means that you will not find it on the official Android store. However, it can still be installed on your Android device by manually downloading the APK file from the internet and installing it on your mobile device.
If you consider installing this new WhatsApp BETA version on your Android device, you will firstly have to enable an option that allows you to install APK files that have been downloaded from a third party source. The option is called “Unknown Sources” and can be enabled by accessing your device’s Settings->Applications or Settings->Security (depending from an Android OS version to another).
Once you have the “Unknown Sources” option enabled, open the web browser that you are using on your Android device and go to the whatsapp.com/android webpage. Here you will notice a big “Download Now” button and by tapping on it you will start downloading the WhatsApp 2.12.399 APK file to your Android device.
Once the download is complete, use a file manager application to go to the location where you’ve saved the WhatsApp 2.12.399 APK file and tap on it to start installing the latest WhatsApp BETA version on your Android device!
